| Győr-Moson-Sopron County's
Local Government came into existence after the local governmental elections
in 1990, as
the successor of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Council. The county's local
government (organized on a representation basis) was looking for and later
found those areas where it can, in addition to its mandatory jobs, add
to the area's development and expansion.
The county's first general assembly had 52 members.
As the result of the local governmental elections of 1994, a 41-member
body was formed.
Since then, 41 representatives make up the county's representative-body.
The president of the county assembly is Dr. Imre Szakács since November
4, 2002.
